Hong Kong Duty and Dangerous Goods Entry and Exit
Alcohol, perfume, hand sanitizer and electronic products cannot be mailed? You may not realize that you are mailing tax/hazardous items! The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) divides dangerous goods into nine categories. Hong Kong also has four categories of dutiable goods that require taxation, including alcohol, tobacco, hydrocarbon oils and methanol. Customers who make false declarations, mispackaging or mishandling when mailing Duty/Dangerous Goods will be prosecuted. Customers transporting hazardous materials may be prosecuted and fined $250,000 and two years in prison!
